Happy New Year!

I read recently-The secret to understanding a city is to learn the word on its street. That would probably explain compatibility. If you could read people's minds as they were passing you- at any given place- you would notice how everybody is thinking- almost the same thing. AND if, if your word does not match the word of the street, may be you're not meant to be there at all!
I thought about it. and my word is- LIBERAL. And the word in the street? OBEY. May be I need to get around here and learn the rules of the game and then flout. Or, go to a place where my word is more customary, less controversial. If you believe me, OBEY runs everywhere in my city- beneath my slippers, whispers in the grass, follows me as I get in the bus, and trains underneath- why, even in other people's eyes! But it also makes me feel extremely safe, as I do not have to think twice about going out on my own in the night to grab some yogurt. But even then, this makes me twice as unsafe in other parts of the world- since this is the easiest place to live. Everything is planned- everything. Your post isnt delayed, you dont have black tickets for movies- and there is no mafia, your citizen status makes you eligible on the receiving end of perks, you have your whole retirement options planned out by the state!
Therefore, THE WORD spins through the streets, bumps up against me and tumbles off, leaving zilch impact.

Anyway. With Christmas pressing up its red lips against my glass door, it is impossible not to give into the cheery spirit and bhangra to Mukesh Ambani's celebratory electricity bill for a month. (Read up on the gossip). While my mom seems to think this is a waste of money which would find better use with developing India, I beg to disagree. I think capitalism stands to be recognized by whoever wants to. If you choose to be ameer in Hindustan, so be it! Vijay Mallya stands testimony to it. Have you heard of those Swamijis clarifying people's purpose on earth? well the king of good times was supposed to be the King of Good Times! May our generation stand to be empire of even better times.

Happy Christmas.. and lets bring in the new year with an extra Balle Balle!

  1. Nice write up, Jai. Just thinking where we have headed to. We are moving to a world, where the whole thing from birth to death is planned!
